Pictures from Crete

This is the view from Palaikastro, one of the Minoan settlements. The water looks refreshing, doesn't it? Trust me, it is.



Gournia -
This is a Minoan road; not very wide for those Minoan SUV's.


This is Mochlos (well, the island behind me is); a sizable Minoan settlement is being excavated on the island.





This is Kommos, a Minoan site right on the sea. Pretty scenic.
All of these buildings were 2 stories tall and brightly painted (so we think). It must have been impressive.
